When it comes to driving an electric vehicle, the most critical factor is undoubtedly the battery. Depending on the battery condition, not only driving performance but also the vehicle’s value can vary. In response, LG Energy Solution has introduced a new service that enables customers to check the condition of electric vehicle batteries more easily and clearly. This service is B.once, an EV battery evaluation service.
B.once: Checking Battery Condition with Just a Scan

B.once is a one-time battery evaluation service that diagnoses battery condition through a simple scan within approximately 5 minutes by connecting an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) scanner to the electric vehicle. Through this process, not only the SoH (State of Health) but also various battery conditions such as voltage and temperature can be comprehensively assessed. In particular, this service incorporates LG Energy Solution’s accumulated BMS (Battery Management System) technology. Based on sophisticated battery condition monitoring technology, it provides fast and efficient evaluation while maintaining high accuracy.
B.once Evaluation Services That Can Be Selected Based on Purpose and Use
B.once offers two types of evaluation services that customers can choose depending on their purpose and situation.
① QuickScan
QuickScan is a fast and convenient evaluation service that estimates SoH within a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes, based on LG Energy Solution’s big data on battery conditions collected from approximately 30,000 or more electric vehicles. After connecting the OBD scanner to the vehicle, the evaluation is conducted through a simple process of turning the ignition on and off, and it can be applied to various vehicle models. Thanks to this convenience, maintenance centers can effectively evaluate battery conditions using QuickScan when inspecting a large number of used electric vehicles.
② PowerScan
PowerScan is an evaluation service used when more precise analysis is required. Based on data collected from the BMS and actual charging data, it calculates battery SoH with high precision by applying LG Energy Solution’s AI and machine learning-based algorithms. Similar to QuickScan, the battery condition is evaluated by connecting an OBD scanner and going through the charging process from SoC 50% to 100%. Under fast charging conditions, the battery evaluation report is issued after a minimum of 30 minutes and up to 50 minutes. This method can be utilized to more accurately verify battery condition when subscribing to used EV battery warranty insurance offered by insurance companies.
B.once Battery Report That Shows Battery Condition at a Glance
Once the battery diagnosis is completed with B.once, a battery evaluation report is provided, allowing a comprehensive review of the results. This report is structured to objectively present battery performance and safety through measurable indicators.

① Battery Information: battery capacity, SoC and BMS SoH, average energy consumption, minimum and maximum battery module temperature, cell balancing status (minimum and maximum cell voltage)
② Driving Prediction Information: estimated driving range, seasonal driving range, projected driving range after 3 years
③ Battery Charging Information: cumulative charge and discharge amount, estimated charging time
④ Degradation Information: condition grade based on SoH (excellent, normal, requires management)
The report can be delivered in various ways. It can be checked instantly on a smartphone or tablet through the dedicated B.once app, or viewed on compatible partners’ own apps or web services via API integration. It is also possible to receive the evaluation results via a designated email.
Accurately identifying the condition of an electric vehicle battery is an essential starting point for safe driving and selecting the right electric vehicle. Through B.once, LG Energy Solution aims to create an environment where EV battery conditions can be checked more easily and clearly.
