Located in the southeast of Germany, Munich is the largest city in Bavaria. From May 7 to 9, the city hosted “InterBattery Europe 2025,” one of the world’s largest battery exhibitions.
LG Energy Solution also participated in this exhibition to showcase its technological leadership in the ESS market. Under the themes “Empower Every Possibility” and “Empower Whenever You Need,” the company presented its vision of unlocking future possibilities through batteries while providing stable and sustainable energy anytime, anywhere.
In particular, through this exhibition, LG Energy Solution unveiled a diverse range of ESS products based on its local production capabilities in Europe. From grid-scale batteries to home batteries and UPS solutions, let’s take a closer look at LG Energy Solution’s latest technologies as witnessed firsthand at the event.
Part 1. Grid-Scale Batteries
In the Grid-Scale Battery Zone, grid-scale batteries designed for large-scale energy storage and supply were exhibited. The JF2S product lineup, which includes cells, packs, and systems, was on display. The highlights were the JF2S Cell, Pack, and the system product JF2S DC LINK.

First of all, the JF2S Cell is a long-life LFP (LiFePO₄) cell that delivers an ultra-long cycle life of approximately 15,000 cycles. It was designed to meet the needs of the European grid market, which requires operation over long hours.
Next, the JF2S Pack adopts CTP technology, featuring a stackable pack design in which three modules are integrated into a single pack. Unlike the previous generation, it applies a liquid-cooling system to minimize temperature variation between cells, and is designed so that the 15,000 cycles achieved at the cell level can also be realized at the system level.
Finally, the JF2S DC LINK is an all-in-one containerized solution that integrates batteries, cooling, control, and fire suppression inside a 20-foot container. Offering a high energy capacity of around 5 MWh, it achieves more than double the energy density compared to the previous JF1 DC LINK.
As such, with the long cycle life of the JF2S Cell and the efficient cooling design of the Pack, the system can be regarded as a solution capable of operating reliably for more than 20 years at the system level.
Part 2. Home Batteries
ESS technology is now extending beyond the grid and into our daily lives. In the Home Battery Zone, LG Energy Solution introduced its newly launched residential ESS product, “JF1R.”

“JF1R” is produced locally in Europe, reducing risks associated with marine transportation and enabling faster, more reliable product supply to customers.
Another advantage is its ease of installation. It is designed so that a single worker can complete the installation within about 10 minutes, and with the plug-and-play method applied, it can be easily installed without any bolt assembly work.
A key feature of the JF1R system is the application of the SoX algorithm, which precisely monitors battery status. The SoX algorithm provides more accurate diagnostics, while eliminating the calibration1 process previously required for LFP batteries, significantly enhancing user convenience.
Part 3. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
With the rise of the AI era, demand for data centers is rapidly increasing. Within this trend, UPS systems play a critical role in supplying emergency power reliably in data centers. In step with this growing demand, LG Energy Solution showcased the JP5 UPS battery system.

The JP5 UPS features world-class power output, energy density, and a compact design. Each rack contains two independent strings, allowing separate operation. This architecture provides a flexible response to the high power requirements of AI data centers. With these advantages, the JP5 UPS is recognized as an optimal solution for next-generation data centers.
Part 4. Battery Passport

One of the key highlights of the exhibition was LG Energy Solution’s first unveiling of its “Battery Passport System.” This system digitally integrates and manages the entire lifecycle data of batteries, including performance, raw materials, and carbon footprint. It is expected to play a crucial role in increasing reuse and recycling rates. Through the Battery Passport, LG Energy Solution is strengthening transparency and accountability across the supply chain, and creating a turning point toward building an even more sustainable battery ecosystem.
As a global industry leader, LG Energy Solution continues to introduce new battery solutions each year while strengthening partnerships with local customers in Europe. Through ongoing R&D and technological innovation, the company will continue to unlock new future possibilities.
