Hi! I’m Wei Xiaohan, the third runner of the Relay Virtual Tour. I’m a member of the Electrode Production Team at the Nanjing Plant. On this tour, I’m going to give you a glimpse into a typical workday for my team and introduce the various welfare facilities provided for Nanjing Plant employees.
The Leadership Center, a special place for employee growth

The “Leadership Center,” located on the third floor of the Welfare Building at the Nanjing Plant, is a dedicated training place for LG Energy Solution employees. Experts from various fields provide the necessary knowledge for work, as well as an understanding of facility functions, helping employees enhance their capabilities. Talent development, which is essential for working at the company, is also offered here.
I myself am a frequent user of the center, and I mostly choose courses that are directly related to my job. Today, I’m taking a computer class on inbound and outbound materials management!
The Electrode Production Team, a key player in battery manufacturing

After the class, I arrived at my workplace – the Electrode Production Team’s office. Our team is responsible for the electrode process in battery manufacturing. The electrode process is divided into mixing, coating, roll pressing, and slitting & notching, and I’m involved in the coating.

I have finished my office work and am now heading to the coating facility site for an inspection. The Nanjing Plant follows strict site management guidelines known as the “3As and 5Ss.” First, you must go through an air shower to remove dirt from your work uniform and shoes before entry. Inside, multiple distribution boards positioned along the path control the power supply to maintain temperature, as well as ensuring hygiene and lighting.
*3 As and 5 Ss: 3As stand for accurate place, authentic products, and accurate amount, while 5Ss represent organizing, tidying up, cleaning, maintaining hygiene, and establishing a habit. (These 5S terms do not start with “S” in English, since the 5S concept comes from Japanese words.)

As you walk along the path, you will find the work area. This is where electrodes are manufactured, including the coating process, in which I am involved. Among the coating equipment, the unwinding machine is used in the coating process to uniformly coat materials such as aluminum foil. Right in front of it are the Die Head and VCM machine, followed by a slurry coating machine that evenly applies the slurry.
I’ve thoroughly checked all the equipment, and with that, my site work is done flawlessly!
The dormitory, a space for relaxation and entertainment

I’ve just arrived at my dormitory after work. This place also has various spaces for employees. Want to take a look around?

Each room is assigned to four people. This space is large enough to accommodate basic necessities such as desks, chairs, closets, and a fridge, all neatly arranged. The two-door window helps maintain a pleasant atmosphere in this space!
The floor below the dorm room offers various facilities for relaxation and entertainment. Our first destination is the table tennis room! I feel completely refreshed when I play table tennis with my colleagues after work.
There is also a rest area. With its spacious design, this space is perfect for reading at the desk or relaxing. The plants and flowers throughout this area are also good for your mental well-being.
Lastly, let me show you my favorite space – the internet café! You can use this entertainment area from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. I often relieve stress by playing games with a few of my colleagues after work.
