LG Energy Solution Nanjing has a special employee who is a photography enthusiast. It is Min Wang who is working on the Corporate Purchasing Team! She is known to keep records of precious moments of her daily lives and strikes work-life balance through her hobby of taking photos. Hi, my name is Min Wang and I’m working on the Corporate Purchasing Team at LG Energy Solution Nanjing. I am currently in charge of label purchasing in the Battery Pack Purchasing Department.
I am working on two platforms: Visual China Group (a Chinese photo and media platform) as a freelance photographer and Xiaohongshu as a blogger. The photography class that I opened on Xiaohongshu became popular and now I have about 32,000 followers!
I started dabbling in photography after one of my colleagues recommended it. I always liked taking photos and have worked hard to take good photos since I bought a camera. I took photography classes to learn the basics and practiced various techniques through online courses.
Let me tell you how passionate I am about photography. One day, I was walking on the street and saw a cute, little cat. After I started taking photos and totally lost track of time and took pictures for over an hour. I even forgot where I was going. In the end, it became a day where I completely immersed myself in taking photos of the cat.
The most important factor to consider when taking photos is composition. When people take photos, they do not have a specific composition in mind and just roughly set one. But if you learn the techniques, you can set the right composition and focus. Next, you need to know how to use the light. For example, if you want to avoid harsh midday light, you’d better take photos in the morning or evening rather than around noon time. This will help you raise the quality of the pictures and produce better results.
Photography as a hobby has changed my life a lot. I not only relieve my stress from work but also express my feelings freely by taking photos, which made me love my life more.
I once won an award from the company as well. In fact, LG Energy Solution holds various events for the employees. For example, when the first in-house photography contest was held, I won the first prize with a photo of sunflower field with a beautiful sunset in the background. That experience made me feel more confident in photography.
One place I want to go to take pictures is the Paracel Islands, a mysterious archipelago located on the western side of the South China Sea. To me, the fact that it cannot be easily visited makes it a more attractive tourist destination. My goal is to capture the breathtaking landscape of the Paracel Islands through my camera lens!
