LG Energy Solution employees achieve work-life balance and maintain healthier lifestyles by incorporating regular exercise into their routines. Today, we’re spotlighting Heung-sang Joo from the DGS/TAP Production Team 2 at LG Energy Solutions in Nanjing. He trains his body and mind through his hobby, marathon running, which helps him manage both his physical health and professional performance. Let’s dive into his Charging Moment and learn more about his daily routine!
Hello! My name is Heung-sang Joo from DGS/TAP Production Team 2.
I am in charge of the formation process of the pouch-type battery production line at LG Energy Solution’s Nanjing facility. Currently, I’m currently managing DGS production at Plant 6.
I’ve been training myself by running marathons for about three years to develop my physical strength and stay healthy. I started running to boost my stamina and better focus on my work.
Marathon running brings vitality to my daily life and greatly helps relieve stress and stabilizes my mind and body. Since I started running marathons, my metabolism and cardiopulmonary function have improved, with my athletic ability significantly boosted. At first, I felt out of breath running just 3km, but now my physical strength has improved so much that I can run 12km or even 20km without feeling out of breath.
It is most important to stretch sufficiently before a race. This not only prevents injuries but also maximizes the effectiveness of running. Additionally, it is crucial to stay hydrated during the race by replenishing water to maintain water balance in your body. And, stretching immediately after the race is essential to prevent muscle soreness. I follow this systematic process to train for marathons and strengthen my physical fitness.
Since LG Energy Solutions boasts a corporate culture that prioritizes work-life balance, I have plenty of time to enjoy marathons outside of the office. I can even find time to run during lunch breaks or after work.
I think my habit of jogging positively impacts my work performance. I have become more competent in my work by maintaining a healthy mind and sound body trained through marathons.
My goal for the latter half of this year is to participate in the Nanjing Half Marathon and complete the race in less than 1 hour and 50 minutes. And I’m aiming to run a full marathon next year and finish it in under 4 hours. As such, I plan to keep up with my hobby of running a marathon to stay in shape, maintain a healthy mind, and further excel in my work!
Heung-sang Joo recharges himself by combining work and his hobby of marathon running! This time, we could get a glimpse of his efforts to enhance physical strength and improve work performance through his daily running routine. Stay tuned for the next episode of Charging Moment!
