At LG Energy Solution Michigan, there is a special club that perfectly embodies this culture—the Parenting Club! After work, members gather to support each other in parenting while also setting aside leisure time for themselves. In this episode of Charging Moment, we sat down with Trisha, Aimee, and Amanda to hear about their experiences in the Parenting Club.

Hi, I’m Trisha! I work in the HR department at LG Energy Solution Michigan as an HR Specialist II. I’m also the President of the Parenting Club, a company-sponsored group for employees raising children. I took on this role because I believed it would help me develop leadership skills while strengthening my sense of belonging within the company. Plus, I saw it as a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and spend quality time together outside the office.

Hello! I’m Aimee from the Quality Department. Here at LG Energy Solution, I make sure that our products are top-notch by keeping an eye on their quality. Apart from that, I just love being a part of the Parenting Club and sharing wonderful moments with my fellow members.

Hi! I’m Amanda. I work as a generalist in the Learning & Development department at LG Energy Solution Michigan. Moving to this area was a big change for me, and I didn’t know many people at first, which was a bit daunting. But through the Parenting Club, I’ve made great connections with my colleagues while creating amazing memories for my child. That’s what led me to join!

Our club offers two types of activities—some exclusively for parents and others that engage our kids. For parents-only gatherings, we enjoy casual lunches on weekdays and share parenting experiences. Sometimes, we treat ourselves to a spa day to unwind or visit exhibitions together. On weekends, we organize family-friendly events like taking the kids to amusement parks, playgrounds, or hands-on learning activities.

The sense of understanding and support within our club is amazing. My son is almost two years old, and at this age, kids tend to put everything in their mouths. When I shared this little struggle with the group, everyone immediately related! It’s reassuring to talk to people who truly understand what you’re going through. We also exchange advice on different parenting challenges, which has been incredibly helpful.

One of the best things about this club is the friendships and networks we build. Watching our kids play together while we share parenting experiences makes me realize that I’m not alone in this journey. Parenting isn’t easy, but thanks to this club, I can fully embrace my role as a mom while forming strong bonds with other working parents.

The strong family-oriented atmosphere at our Michigan facility has made it possible for us to be actively engaged in club activities. Our children get to make new friends, and for me, it has been a wonderful way to meet colleagues from different departments, which is especially useful in my role. As part of the HR team, I handle payroll processing every week. Thanks to the Parenting Club, I’ve had the chance to connect with employees I wouldn’t normally interact with. So, when work-related challenges arise, it is much easier for me to communicate with colleagues and resolve issues since I have already established relationships with them.
My hope is that our Parenting Club continues to grow into a supportive community where members can lean on each other. Parenting is tough, and having a strong support network makes all the difference. It’s so important to be there for one another!
